for those who have swapped in a manual
how did you open the barb on the master cylinder to get fluid to the clutch system?

I used a separate resevoir for my '72 250C conversion. I'm not a big fan of the two systems sharing/swapping the same fluid.

Cut off the tip with a pair of scissors.

My system....
I sucked out enough fluid to get below the fitting, then snipped the end off with a pair of side cutter "dikes". Slipped a new hose on and used a hose clamp for extra security. Then I bled the system with a pressurized bleeder (bled from the bottom up). Then I topped up the reservior with fresh fluid, and managed not to spill a drop.
