acceleration issue 85 300d

Quick question, after starting my 300d it idles fine but I have to floor the pedal to get any speed. It feels like it is moving in molassas. After it warms up, say 5 minutes, it accelerates normally. Any suggestions?

85 300d 181k miles

This is fairly normal, they don't have "full power available" until the engine has warmed up at least a little bit. My car is pretty slow when started cold too. How well does it drive once warmed up? 0-60 should take about 12.5-13 seconds on a good running example at operating temp (85C).

I would try cleaning out the banjo bolt fitting on the ALDA, the switch over valve and all related piping. This controls your turbo boost.

A VERY good car. 14-16 is normal.

Filters
Valve adjustment
Air filter
Diesel purge
Clean the banjo bolts
disable the EGR

thanks, I will try these suggestions. It runs great once I get up to 3rd gear and no problems once it warms up. If I let it idle for about 3-5 mins, it accelerates much better. I replaced all the filters when I bought it, fuel looked like ink, nice and clear now.

Here's one....loss of acceleration (feeling of power mainly) between 45-75 when trying to merge on the highway, however, the car will still rev to the max at each shift (it just takes longer) and can still bury the speedo well past 90mph. I'm thinking it can't be fuel filters, they're not that old and it wouldn't be able to go that fast if they were the issue. I get about 10-11psi boost according to my gauge (as I have always gotten). I'm thinking possible issue with boost line/switchover valve/Alda. Sound on the right track?

I shimmed the Alda a little over a year ago and it gave me much better off the line power.....

If the ALDA is leaking would that kill my performance? How do you test for this most effectively?
