I have a 81 240D and fixed my odometer with the help of the pictorial on diesel giant and talking with Douglas Sharida at the new england spring GTG. Thanks for the help and it was 1 1/2 hours start to finish. Anyone thinking of doing the job I say just do it. It worked. Thanks

Cool. I plan on doing my 300D the weekend following the upcoming one. I had a shop fix it last time ($$) and it only kept working for 12,000 miles.

Simple repair. If you score the shaft before you put the gear back on it will never slip again and you won't need the green loctite.
