Passengers side front and Drivers side rear windows do not work...

Just picked up a 300SD that has been sitting for a while. The car is in good shape but the Passengers side front and Drivers side rear windows will not roll up or down. Checked the fuse. What else should I check?

Try replacing the fuse, they can have cracks in them that are hard to see. Plus the windows are wired so that if a fuse blows RF & LR or LF & RR go together.

I'm not as familiar with the SD's as I am with the D's but on this one there are the regular red, white and blue euro fuses of course and then 4 bigger metal box looking fuse things behind the regular fuses. What are these?

Replace the fuse, the windows are wired criss-cross.

This is what I found when I was having problems with the fuse. With out pulling the fuse it looked good; when the fuse was pulled out there was a surprise for me!

switches

You may have to clean the console switches. I did that on my 300D and presto, all the motors works up and down.

1982 300SD windows still a no go...

I replaced the fuses with fresh fuses and switched out the console switches with known working ones and I still have the same problem. Nothing going on with the front passenger side and rear drivers side window. I took the front pass. side door panel off and tested the motors with a volt meter and they seem to be getting power. Is it just a coincidence that both of these motors are non working. Seems like something else may be afoot. Can I replace the motors without replacing the regulators?

It would be not be a coincidence if they stopped AT THE SAME INSTANT.... otherwise , they could have quit at different times..... but keep looking for something they have in common ... like poor connections or poor grounds.... etc..

Would they both be sharing the same ground? And if so where would I locate that?

The console was taken apart and put back together by a guy who did a botched veggie conversion on the car. Is there a ground in the console?

It's not a ground. The two front windows share the same ground.

Please check for voltage on both sides of fuse "a" and report back.

Checked the voltage for both sides of "a" fuse and they are getting power for sure...checked the voltage at the motor and it seems like it is getting power as well...
