Anyone with a US/Euro EPC? Transmission ID Needed
Does anyone have an EPC? What is a 717 421 00 002453 transmission? It's from an unknown year 280GE.
Is it by chance a 4 speed or a...5 speed? :D |
Looks like a 5 speed

I found the same thing. No need to have a Euro EPC. I have the regular subscription.

Update, I identified the trans as being from a 1986 280GE.....and it's a 5 speed Getrag.
The question now is if it will bolt up to a OM617.910 with a 300D flywheel, clutch and pressure plate.....and finding the shifter and pieces to make it fit into a W115.... |
Old problem commonly asked here. This tranny will not bolt up to the 617's. Starter hump on wrong side.
|
However the tranny will bolt up to a 603.;)

Well I humbly admit my mistake. It appears the 717.42X tranny could have the hump on either side. I was recently looking at one and the hump was on the driver's side. It was from a M102 2.3L.
The 717.421 has it on the passenger side and the 717.422 has it on the driver's side. |
I know what it would bolt up nicely to! ;)

I'll bet you do.....i'll email you about it on the side....it's the real deal...with a few caveats for our applications.
