300d steering vibration
My "new" 85 300d is vibrating badly at 65mph. It gets worse when turning left or right. Am I looking at tie rods or should I be looking at something else. No excessive bouncing when pushing down on bumper, I think the shocks are ok.

Tire(s) out of balance, swap front to rear, same thing?
Or maybe the center bearing on the drive shaft.

I agree, first thing is to eliminate the tires by swapping them front to rear. 65 MPH is normally a tire not balance. Visually inspect the front tires while off for any bulges in the sidewalls. The clue about turning making it worse makes me think a faulty tire. Also almost no one ever replaces the steering dampner (shock) on the tie rod. Its there to control normal vibration felt thru the steering wheel.
