1983 300sd oil pressure 2X too high

hello from mike webb , s3x309@frontiernet.net , we have a mercedes benz 300sd with high oil pressure , measured with an accurate gauge we have 60psi @ idle and 95psi @ 3k rpm ! mod specs call for 7psi @ idle and 42.6psi @ 3k rpm hot ,
i thought this would be easy , anybody knows the oil pressure relief valve is in the oil pump so just replace the pump and problem solved , right , no , the pressure has actually gone up with the new oil pump ??? we are using mobil 1 15w 50 oil and a hengst oil filter , we are about to remove the oil filter and run it like that , in case the oil filter has too fine filter mesh but thats a guess , there is nothing related to this in the archives for this website and there is nothing related to this in the archives for i-atn ??? the local good machine shop suggests i try looking for a frozen oil filter bypass valve which i am about to do also , but ???
has anyone seen this before ???? thanks for any help , mike webb
