I found one 100 psi cylinder on my 617, it took about 10 seconds for me to start shopping for a replacement engine. I would recommend spending very little time and effort on this engine unless you intend to do a rebuild.

Hey Charlie- So far no improvement with the ATF/MMO mixture. I have about 45 miles on it now. I am pretty sure at this point that its terminal. The car did idle decent for awhile one time, but the next time I drove it it was shaking and smoking again. The strange thing is that at higher RPM it runs fine and has just as much power as my 81 that runs fine. Oh well, win some lose some! I'm gonna fool with it some more when I have a chance and if I find a cure I will post it. Thanks-Scott

At higher rpm the compression has less time to leak away from wherever its leaking. Perfectly normal behaviour.

Weak cylinders always will show up at idle first.

I was thinking it might have been scored cylinder wall as well. Reported on alternative fuels sometimes. Still should put some air in that cylinder to make sure the valves are tight.
