www.odometergears.com is where I got my gears from. It's a pretty easy fix. I ordered all three gears and replaced them all. Not the cheapest things around though.

Both of them are run off the same set of gears. It is likely that you are dealing with just one broken gear. It's a fairly easy job to get in there and find which one is broken. I just replaced the broken gear in mine with a used one from a parts car.

How did you do that? My w126 odometer is soldered to a circuit board. The w123 repair seems MUCH easier. I need to do this repair. I even have a pic of the broken gear --- right in half.

Hope this pic helps. On the right side is where the small gear goes. You have to clean off the shaft, since the old gear likes to leave behind some stuff. Here's what I did.
1. Disconnect Battery
2. Remove lower hush panel
3. Remove dash cluster
4. Remove speedo section from cluster
5. Remove small cover for gears
6. Remove gears and remains of small gear
7. Install gears
8. Install small cover
ETC, ETC.. You get the picture. Here's a link to some more pics, but I didn't take a lot (shame on me). I'll try to help as much as I can.
