Exclamation Please help..is their more than one model ignition switch for 85 300D?

The old one on the left has the twidget in the middle and the new one does not.

Also the wiring connector doesn't sit flush in the new model, about a 1/4" of it protrudes out.

I know what you are thinking just pull that yellow twidget off in the middle and put it on the new one... I dont think so , I tried pulling it and I dont think it wants to come off..

I think these are two different models. The new one won't start my car. Boys thats a cramped area to work in, finally I pulled the steering wheel and the cluster.

What does the electrical connector look like that plugs in there? Does the "twiget" twist?
