buzzer chirp when I hit my brakes.

I did a search for this, but didn't come up with anything.

Anyway, my '86-SDL's buzzer is chirping every time I hit my brakes. It's really quick...just a fraction of a second. Any ideas?

Man, I hope this gets resolved.

Mine does the same thing... but get this, IF and ONLY IF the drivers' door is open.

If you stomp the pedal repeatedly, making it chirp, my chirp gradually gets louder and worse until eventually you can get it to do about half-buzzer constantly, from the time you step on the pedal until the time you release it.

The only reason I don't think it's the number one answer to this question, an automatic "Check your grounds" - is that it does that progressive crescendo that starts out with a brief chirp that can't be sustained, and moves on up to a constant buzz that CAN be sustained.... reliably, every time you test it. A bad ground would be an intermittant sort of thing... no ground can gradually become better and worse every time you put it through its paces.

Wire underneath your dash connects to your ignition lock

Remove the console panel underneath the dash and look up there at the ignition lock and see if the wire is seated correctly--in the first case, (or post) its loose, in the second case when it comes on all the time, something funny is going on with your ignition lock ... I know this because I jusy replaced my ignition lock and I have the same problem,, I wll soleve it by next week and let you know

Mine does the same thing sometimes, but only since I did my brake light mod and added 2x the wattage to the system. I've been able to do the repeated activation resulting in a half-tone steady buzzer too.....its probably all due to grounding issues. Lately I haven't really heard it (or noticed it).....so maybe it cured itself.
