atf or power steering fluid?
 
which am i supposed to use in the power steering? atf? or power steering fluid?

1982 300sd.

the book calls for type a transmission fluid... since there is no type a fluid anymore, I use power steering fluid. it has conditioners and such for the pumps and it's less expensive than atf.
the synthetic stuff from prestone I think is what I use... not sure though. don't forget to change the filter in there.

The fluid from MB has a Dex II spec on it

Tranny fluid tends to find/create (the) imperfections in the system. If you are running tranny fluid in your PS system w/o issues- go ahead. If not, change to PS fluid, it tends to not leak, stop leaks.
