I've got a Jingle!
My 78 with the broken motor mount has a bit of a jingle.
Front left side when I go over a bump (smaller bumps produce better jingles) makes a cute jingling sound. Only if I bump over on the left side, not the right side. Any ideas what it might be? Thanks! (I'm gonna get the mount done this week)

A loose bolt or the engine mount.
Check the A/C compressor bolts, they have long spacers that can make a nice jingle when loose. |

Thanks Lance,
Oh and how much damage could I be doing driving my car with the mount loose or broken? Drivers side mount.

Might have a look at the sway bar links too. They can make funny noises.

Plenty if you don't fix this! I thought you were talking about a jingle you wrote for us classic Benz owners! Look for anything loose.

MB didn't make their mounts like modern auto makers do. If the mount goes bad there is nothing to restrain the engines movement other than gravity and the other two mounts. |

In all seriousness, it depends on how bad it is, but it should probably be taken care of as soon as you get the chance. |
