DOT 4

Normal DOT 4, do not use a synthetic nor DOT 5.

DOT 3 has a much lower boiling point than DOT 4....which is what these systems require. DOT 4 is an all around better fluid.

I buy the German ATE brand stuff online....but thats me.

You can use DOT 3 temporarily if there's no other brake fluid around, but I'd replenish it with DOT 4 the soonest I can. Since you're doing the brakes just go with DOT 4. ATE in the blue canisters are the best.

Any DOT4 is fine, have used the 5 dollar stuff at Kragen with no ill effects.

You must completely flush your system if you have any DOT3, 3&4 should not be mixed.

motor oil, water, gasoline, pretty much anything liquid will work in a pinch for brake fluid... a 300D has solid rotors, non vented, kinda makes little sense to use a low boiling point fluid for stopping the car.
5.1 is compatible with fluids used in our cars, and has the highest boiling point yet. it is NOT the silicone dot5 fluid.
