A Reverse of Fortune?
 
92 300D 2.5 Turbo
Transmission thunks in the rear end when shifting from 2nd to third.third to forth.
Just that thunk. Shifts well and runs out well with one exception.

Reverse slips on an incline.

check the flex disks for the clunk....

the reverse might be a band, others will chime in

Check them both sooner rather than later; you don't want one to break loose at speed. You basically are sitting on top/next to the front one.
