B2 Piston install problems

Ok, so I am working on getting this B2 piston installed in my 84 300SD. However I am having a bit of a problem. I cant get the old piston out. I have the cover off and the rear trans mount bracket disconnected, the trans is sitting lower, just not low enough to get the old piston out.

Any ideas?

Thanks

You'll need to unbolt the center support bearing for the drive shaft. (which may involve unbolting the driveshaft pan) This should allow you to lower the transmission further.

You'll also have to use a piece of wood to wedge the trans over to the left to get enough room to pull the piston all the way out. It is a tight fit, but it can be done. Read Russell's great tutorial at DieselGiant.com. Good luck.

jack up the pass side rear off the ground, the use a wedge to push the tranny to the left. Jacking the chasis up will give you the room you need.
