300SDL and Trap Oxydizer
I have just aquired an 87 300SDL. This car has the Trap-Oxydizer in place. I have been told that the modification to remove this is done by MB at no charge.
If anyone has any info on this let me know please. |

Do a search on "trap oxidizer" and you will find a plethora of information.

I owned an 87 300SDL and it had the trap oxidizer updated by MB for no charge. They removed it and replaced in with one of a different design. If you have the trap that is about 8 or so inches in diameter, that is the old one that needs to be replaced.
The new one is about 3 or 4 inches in diameter. Upon replacement with the new trap, my fuel ecomony increased 10% immediately. That replacement is indeed free, but I found it hard to get out of the MB service area without parting with 3 or 400 bucks, on other things. Joe |
