Need Help, 126 Dash Removal

I removed:
bolts by speakers
screws to center console
nuts in doorjamb

The dash pad seems to be held in the middle-top. Is it just the defroster ducts or is there a fastener of some kind in the center of the dash?

Thanks,

it's been awhile but iirc theres one screw/bolt in the center of the dash similar to under the speaker covers- check for that.

In addition to the middle top screw, pay close attention to the lower RH attachment.

I didn't, and it took a while to figure it out......

Thanks Jim, I'll look it over well. I probably got it, the bottom seems loose all-across, doesn't hurt to check again though.

It wasn't too hard to take apart, but it was a PITA to figure out how reassemble. Mine has a passenger airbag, might have made it more complex.

Well, of the 124, 126, and 201, I'm convinced that I could R&R both a 201 and a 124 in the time it takes to do a 126. Still easier than a Jetta.

But that added complexity is what makes a W126 more exciting!
