fuel line part #- leeking fuel onto exhaust

So I notice fuel under the rear. Yep, weeping lines. Can someone help me out with a part #. Both lines that run from the tank to the front. Presently they are dripping onto the differential and subsequently onto the exhaust! I would like to change these asap but my EPC login isn't working or I've some sort of glitch. Want to hit the dealer today up today... Thanks

Should be here http://catalog.worldpac.com/mercedesshop/sophio/wizard.jsp?partner=mercedesshop&clientid=catalog.mercedesshop&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&cookieid=2AE0BZRXJ2CO0ZPLOF&year=1982&make=MB&model=300-DT-001&category=E&part=Fuel+Hose
somewhere, the dealer will that info too.

Should be generic 5/16" fuel hose. If its the suction line you can cut the collar off the hose barb and use a regular hose clamp to secure the new hose in place.

Thanks. I wasn't able to get to the dealer today but will tomorrow. Will they be able to tell me how much length is needed for both hoses or is it a length in total and I cut to fit? I don't see leaks elsewhere but in the rear, on both hoses. BTW, I know I could get this at a parts store but I'm in the habit of using the dealer for convience and trustworthy longevity on things like this. Any DIY guides?

I replaced mine and described how to empty to the tank easily so you don't end up with a diesel bath. Search on my name and fuel hose replacement.
Don't see why you need dealer parts. 3 or 4' of hose and some clamps from the auto parts store and your good to go. If you follow my instructions you'll also need an additional 5' of hose and a container for the diesel fuel.

Thanks Kerry, I found the thread and recall it. I'll just get some 5/16 hose from the local parts store and try your drain method- I should only have a couple of gallons in there when I tackle this wed. My fuel guage is just as accurate as yours! I recently ran on "r" for 80 miles and felt sure I'd run out. Filled up and discovered I still had 6 gal in there. So lets see if my estimations on whats in there are good!

Your dealer can't look up part numbers?

Well, since someone asked- a short story. The dealer I use in Pittsburgh is (right on my way to/from work) in a former Packard dealership building. The retail parts set-up is such that one must enter a door toward the rear of the building and walk up to a 'dutch' door in the back of the parts dept. 50 feet from the parts counter where the computers are. There is no access to the counter except for techs. Yes they can look up anything really, but I like to show up with the numbers so that John does not have to countinuously print daigrams, walk 50 ft, try again, walk, 50ft etc. until we get the right #. But in this case I'm not even going to bother with the dealer after all.:)

Job done. I must admit I found something satisfying watching the car pump its own fuel out so I could work on it! I just connected a length of hose @ the return on top of the main filter and ran it into a 5 gal. fuel container. Had to cut the clamps of the old hoses but all in all an easy job. BTW, dealer sold me 15ft. of 5/16 hose for $5!
