pilot bearing removal tool
The grease pressure method is not working for the removal of the pilot bearing on a 79 240d. the grease seal on the bearing is broken and grease just comes right out. Any suggestions? there must be a puller tool available right

There are two types that I know of, one has fingers that go inside the bearing and push out and then you use a slide hammer device to pull the bearing. Another type uses a screw device like a puller. Both work well.

I probably wasted an hour looking around for something the right diameter for the "grease extraction method" I use a slide hammer with a 90 degree hook on it.
