pulley removal help

need to get 6 hex bolts off to remove pulleys connected to dampener...they are pretty rusted...can heat be used or will it hurt a seal or something?..any tips or tricks?...looks like previous owner might have stripped them a bit....thanks!!

Is this related to your past thread of the power steering belt rubbing on the vacuum pump?

So what is the solution to your problem. Are you going with another type of pulley?

You can heat the bolts and should not have any issues. But I would try using Boltouts from Sears.

yes...i am replacing the power steering pump bracket and i believe i need to replace the pully assembly on crank for everything to line up

I might be wrong, but I think you might need a different pulley also on the power steering to make it work. Not the bracket. But I am interested on how this plays out. Good Luck.

unless i get a bigger pulley on my power steering pump for the belt to go around the vacuum pump...the different bracket pushes the power steering pump out farther past the vacuum pump but does not line up with the pully on the crank...figuring the pully assembly off car i got bracket from should make everything line up(pump was same on donor car as mine)

Now you got me tempted to buy more tools. These look like something I might be able to use.
