Gas Tech new to Diesel Benz-82' 300D Turbo

Sister in-law's car, have replaced brake booster supply line, oil, air & fuel filter's, most vacuum lines, injector return lines, rebuilt vacuum pump (oh joy), replaced all belts, cleaned ALDA valve banjo's, ran diesel purge & run high octane injector cleaner every other tank. Getting ready to adjust valves, replace injector nozzles, replace the intake seal rings & transmission vacuum valve levers - all in hopes of curing the rough (shimmy & shaking) idle and blue smoke that come on out of the blue (one day purring like a kitten, next all heck broke loose) and by the way motor mounts all look good. Any thoughts on if I'm headed down the right path or ideas as to what I might be missing!!! All constructive comments most appreciated!!!

oil cooler lines (most important thing on entire car). Radiator hoses, thermostat, short radiator hose (runs from the thermostat housing to something else, its about 3 inches long and 1.5 inches diameter) Tranny cooler lines, tranny filter, check the suspension for bad ball joints or bushings, especialy in the upper control arms. Wheel bearings if bad. Exhaust hangers (they are most likely cracked, and it sucks when they all fail, and their cheap and easy to do)

Might try....

Plugging line to EGR valve as a test :D Check to see if you are getting enough boost. Most older cars are down to about 8 lbs boost. Can remedy with aftermarket boost control....set to 12 to 13 lbs. That way if turbo is leaking a little, the increased velocity of air going thru will push smaller amounts of oil thru the engine before large amounts build up. This build up might be the reason for the blue smoke. The quantity of oil finally builds up enough, then the engine might injest it in a large gulp.

Regards
