add ATF while engine is off (1992 300D)
I added 200 ml ATF while the engine of my 1992 300D is off though the dipstick tube.
Will this cause any problem? I think we should to top off ATF while engine is idling and the gear is at P.

You really should have had it warm (a 20-30 drive would work) and checked the level while in P before adding anything.

I checked the level after driving 25 min (not highway) when the engine is idling and the gear is at P. But I added the ATF while the engine is off.
I checked the level at a self wash because the ground is level there. But I forgot to bring funnel. So I went home and added ATF at home while the engine is off.

What d'ye mean by "topping it off?" Reconnoitre 4-6 oz. between bars on the stick. Low bar is normal when cold, high bar normal when hot as i'm sure ye know already. And since it's checked with engine running, preferably in D with emergency brake set, then makes sense oughta be filled with engine running too. Caution is overfilling these puppies bein the worst thing you can do. BTW, poorman's method for bleeding an overfilled tranny if it ever happens is crack open one of the cooler lines to radiator.

The level was a little below min. I read that it takes about 300 ml from min to max. So the amount 200 ml will not overfill the transmission if added properly.
Since I add ATF when engine is off, does the ATF go to an undesirable area - e.g. instead of going into the transmission, it goes to vent hole (if such thing exists) and leak out of the car later -?

The dipstick tube leads to the pan, you did fine.
