When I pulled the drivers seat to "noodle" it I found about 10 plastic baggies, a few that still had a bit of white powder residue in the corners. Along with that a bunch lottery pencils and a pack of nicorette gum. Looks like someone had a coke, gambling and cig problem...

Best thing I found in the wrecking yard was in the early 80's. It was inside the center console of a 58 Thunderbird. The lock was busted so I pried it open to find nearly $30 in face value silver coins. The car looked badly weathered and still had remnants of the yellow CA license plates attached to it. It had obviously been sitting before silver coins had been phased out.

Did you find a princess to wear it for you?

I usually find 3 to 8˘ every time I go except the other day I found 58˘.

found a scienific calculator sitting on the bumper of a 123, a screwdriver, 17mm 1/2" and a 1/2" swivel impact.

The best find for me was not in a junkyard but in the trunk of a '51 caddy I bought. There were a whole lot of extra parts including a set of stainless steel fake wire wheel covers which I sold for about $375. There was other stuff too but that was the best.

Haven't found anything in the junkyards but have found stuff in my car, I found a 1923 gold wedding ring under a plastic vacuum hose cover while goofing around taking out the floor mats to clean. I got in contact with the 2nd P.O of the car, the ring was a gift from his deceased father to him. P.O #2 lost the ring sometime two decades ago and was digging up his yard/ metal detecting to find it. He was very happy to get it back, and he gave me $30 gas(diesel) money!
I also found under the console switches there was a splice in the emergency flasher power wire and a wire running up to make a stereo installation easier. Thanks P.O!

PHOOEY! I just pulled all the seats out of my newly acquired SEC and found exactly 28 cents, one #2 almost unused pencil from the drivers door insides, a sticker about a special tummy button(push to make giggle) from a kids toy and that's it except for several ink pens for a mobile pet grooming service in the Sacramento area. I don't know what Jim B found in the car when he cleaned it out.....and I don't want to know either. Seems the car had set awhile with maybe the windshield busted as Jim said there was lots of pine needles and the like in there.

Best find so far for me was $300.00 in small bills scattered and jammed under the back seat of my 1960 Studebaker Hawk. It had been purchased from the bank as a repo from one of the "Ladies Of the Night" in our small town. I got a great deal on that car. Cleaned it out REAL WELL and never looked back.

A wagon warning triangle is about the only find I've had in the yards. I've had some good trunk finds in cars I've purchased, but that isn't the thread now is it........

I found a Dutch dime in one of the front seats I got from a MB only junkyard. I thought this was kind of odd as it did not come from a Euro. A tiny coin, but it clearly says "10 cent ; Der Nederlanden. 1991". I've kept it as a MB good luck charm!

I found $10 in change under/inside the seats of my first 240D, and a working Sony CD player under a rear floormat.
My second 240D had several Mexican coins under/inside the seats.
My latest 300TD had half a twelve-pack of Pepsi and one dollar bill under the passenger seat.
Found a nice little Shrade 'Old Timer' pocket knife under the seat of a Pick-N-Pull 240D last fall.
Looks like I should start searching cars other than the ones I'm pulling parts from!

Happy Motoring, Mark

Jeez- the gal probably got rid of it because it was so slow. If she had spent the money instead of using the car as a purse...
