1970 220d stuck in 4th gear
My buddy was driving our 220d with a manual tranny this afternoon, he said that at the stop light he could not get it out of 4th gear. Any ideas to the cause of this? Any help is all ways appreciated. OH, he also said that he broke the GEAR SELECTOR OFF inside the boot. He said that it can be welded up, but if anyone has one sitting arround let me know.
Thanks Guys! |

Ha! Reminds me of my first 220D.
The shifter mechanism gets sloppy and can drop the arm that moves the rod to the trans, leaving the lever on the side of the tranny selecting 4th gear. Get under the car and manipulate the 3-4 lever to the neutral position. Jim
