126 A/C lines.. Who's done 'em ?

Just ordered the compressor, dryer, expansion valve and both hose assemblies - $584.00 !!! (sometimes being in the business is great )
Next Saturday's project. Gonna flush the condenser & evap of course but wondering who's tackled this move and if anyone in D/FW knows who has Freeze 12 or any GOOD R12 replacement. I may switch back from 134.....

Although some here would flame you for using this stuff. But I have eight cans of Freeze-12 I like to unload for cheap..... $20 bucks for three cans (or more plus cost) shipped?

There is no good R12 replacement except R134a.... and there is no reason not to stick to the R12 .... if you really check the price, the longevity, the ease of service, the efficiency ... you will be better off with the R12.

But it is your car and you can do what you want with it...

More research is indicated when you even consider an 80 percent 134a content like Freeze 12 as something to ' switch back to from 134a '......

You're "in the business" and you can't get a couple pounds of R-12?

This is a great quote.

Telling people the drawbacks to using ANY BLEND.... is not flaming... attacking people who promote some of these Blends and other stuff ( not talking about DeliveryValve here ) [WITHOUT pointing out the drawbacks...which is SELLING ]...not participating in trying to help out fellow forum members... .BIG DIFFERENCE.

No one can blame DeliveryValve for wanting to Sell it... LOL

I haven't even looked into R12 in a long time. Didn't even know it can still be had. Had no reason to pay attention to it til now. If it is available, then that's what I may get..

I have not checked on your car's equipment... but I am surprised that those items cost you that much money... ?
R12 is easy to get and the big picture for your equipment really makes it the most practical solution ... that is sort of a pun... as the oil miscibility of R12 is superior to other refrigerants... which is very important if you are using the Delco R4 which has no oil sump... so the flow of oil through the system is all your compressor has to get lubricated...

Check out the "BUY PARTS" link to compare my prices..
My prices - compressor $222.86
dryer - $54.81
exp valve - $31.91
Suction hose - $75.31
Dryer to exp valve hose - $155.46
It's been a while since I messed with GM compressors but I do recall that.

Ok... the reason I ask that...since you have ordered a replacement for it... there are two models.... the later ones are built better and better able to take the higher pressures of the R134a if you choose to use it...
Ask if the big clutch has bolt heads coming out of the front of it... as compared to rivets...

Ahh, thanks. I'll have to check. What's the big no-no about FREEZE 12 ? I just asked my shop foreman and a tech with an 85 5-Series about it. They both have been using it for several years without issue..
