Whats the big deal? Everybody knows the car will make it. Worst wreck I've ever driven cross country coupla hundred miles was BWM motorcyle with one lung - t'other cylinder ate a valve.

If I was driving alongside that car I would be pretty pissed off if the wheel bearing or rear end locked up and he side swipped or caused me to lose control of my car.

I'm not that easy going with stuff like that, character flaw maybe?

Throw bicycle in the trunk for getaway transport if ye dont make it and decide to ditch the vehicle wherever it falls. Ideally all yer gear should fit in one rucksack. You'll be fine, dont let the squeemish dissuade you.
That is how the roads are in Kentucky, but not everywhere.

Look, you can prob rent a pick-up and small trailer and tow it yourself for less than $300. Do yourself and your fellow drivers a favor. What's $300 when the wheel's popped off and you slam into someone else and face vehicular manslaughter charges?
Hopefully, a LEO is reading this thread(), and will stop this childish trip soon after it starts. It's not legal to drive the car, and it wouldn't be hard to spot the car.....

I don't really see how its not legal to drive this car. All lights are functioning, it should be able to stay over the minimum speed limits, and its licenced, registered, and insured.

On a side note, I have taken the wheel off, and found out what was causing the noises when I took a right turn. One of the pieces that was connected to a rod thats about a half inch thick that goes all the way accross the body had broken and was hitting against the inside of the wheel. i strapped this rod down and took the car for a test drive. The vehicle doesn't make any noises anymore. Also, I hit 55 on smooth road before the shakes came on. Even then, it still felt as though I had control.

I have now signed up for AAA premium, and rigged the gas line up on the outside of the car. On a side note, diesel tastes horrible. But I think the car is ready to drive. I plan on departing from indianapolis tomorrow morning and traveling on I-65.

You must be a teenager, it's not safe to drive that pos around the block, much less a few hundred miles. Like I said, hopefully a LEO will stop you before you get on the interstate highway system and endanger many people's lives.
