engine swap rpm sensor question

I have an 84 300D body, I put an 83 300D engine and trannie in. Now the rpm sensor on the 83 was located on the front of the engine. The one in the 84 body seems to have been located on the bellhousing.
Will the 84 sensor bolt onto the 83 bellhousing and work or is my best option to scavenge the tach parts off the 83 and convert the 84.
Does anybody have pictures of where the rpm sensor is located on an 84 300D?
Thanks,
Tracy
