resurrecting and older one here...
It was at first not obvious to me (I'm not a mechanic, or a MB mech...) that the fuel/water separator bolted to the wheel well on my 240d was not a stock item. Kinda cool to think that whoever owned this before my liked to tinker with it, too.... Took it apart today to clean it (very dirty) and was wondering if anyone knew what the two wires were for on top of it. Thanks! Kat |
I think this is the one installed in your car.

When water is accumulated at the bottom, the float will rise and make the connection. I have 1 installed on my Veggie Mobile and it is good but I do not care to connect them. It cuts down my primary and secondary filter change frequency. |
