The switch for the fan goes on the top of the drier. It does NOT have the O-ring on it.

The compressor cut out switch goes on the bottom. It has the tiny o-ring.

Hope that helps.

Yeah I got it. Had them in the wrong place.

Got everything sealed up tight, no leaks after a good flushing. 3 ounces of new oil. Charged it up and had around 150# on the high side and 35# on the low side. Doesn't cool very good. There are bubbles in the sight glass.
Outside temp around 88 degrees.
Should the high side be that high or should I charge until the low side gets to around 40# and be happy? I'm thinking it's undercharged or 3 ounces of oil is too much?

Any comments?

Danny

Did you use a real vacuum pump or one of the cheap Harbor Freight versions? It sounds like you might have moisture in the system.

3oz of oil is a bit too little rather than too much. What were you charging with? 12 oz cans? 30lb container? Low side pressure of around 40 is about right but I always charge based on weight.

No I did not use cheap Harbor freight tools. I used this:
http://www.denlorstools.com/home/dt1/page_3843_214/robinair_rob15234_1.2_cfm_2_stage_vacuum_pump_r_12.html

Pulled down to 30" for 3 hours and held there for 1/2 hour before charging. It's kind of hard to believe there's moisture in the system.

I charged from a 30lb container and purged the lines before charging.
