No need to remove the fan or pulley, part # 83 has a hole in it where you put a steel rod of your choosing in. Remove nut #119, and using the steel rod, you can apply pressure to release the tension on bolt#113, allowing you to move bolt #113 towards the rear, which will allow part #83 to pivot while you control the release of tension with the rod you installed in the hole. Your owners manual shows the diagram of how the belt is installed. I was able to remove my old one, and install a new one using this procedure. Takes a little bending and weaving of the rubber belt, but it can be done with a little patience. Good luck

But I cant get it back on!

It seesm so easy, but I cannot see to get the tension back in the new belt to get #83 back up to the bolt. The whole cylinder head was removed and I didnt pay much mind to the belt system, however, now a new belt is installed ( lengths seemed about right), and I cannot get the belt tight enough to get #107 back up to # 89.

Guess the dealer could have given me a slightly short belt, eh?

I would double check the diagram in your owners manual as to the proper threading of the belt over and under the pulleys. I know when I did it, it took me a while to figure it out. My manual shows two diagrams, one for the gas version, and one for the diesel version. I would also check to make sure that the hooks on the spring are firmly seated in their respective anchoring points. Good luck!!

You've skipped a turn somewhere Gene.

On my 99, the belt diagram is on the radiator crossmemeber across the front of the engine compartment.

You should assemble 107 to 89, then using the tool of choice, bring #83 up to #113. Hope this makes sense. Also make sure the belt is resting properly on all of the pulleys, I fought with it the first time and then realized it was off the Crank pulley a small amount

Thnx fellas.I dont have a good diagram for the 95. I went off one of the DIY articles for a 99. Going to check the owners manual again.

Edit: Nope, I got it right. Really only one way it can go. Old belt is going back on, it was servicable, but since I had a new spare....
