w115 240D suspension question

I may have a chance to buy a beater 115 240d very cheap, but the owner says one rear wheel rubs on the wheel well sometimes on turns or going over bumps.

I don't know much about suspension on w115s or on any car for that matter but I am open for "adventures." Any quick guesses on what it could be or what kind of trouble I could be getting myself into if I bite?

Thanks.

It's probably the sway bar link. Mine broke at the Heim joint and sounded like hell whenever you cornered.

Simple fix.

Is the subframe the "A" shaped section that the wheels connect to, that moves vertically with the suspension and bolts to the frame? (it has been a couple months since I have looked under the rear of an old MB) Would it be apparent when looking underneath if it was cracked?

I just found a thread in vintage about worn out or broken springs causing the same thing.

Yep, its the giant hollow wishbone piece that connects to unibody at subframe mounts at/near each side rear jackpoint. Diagnosed cracked subframe of mine visually by crawlin around underneath. Believe it not, can be repaired DIY - notso bad a job after pulling the springs.

Said wishbone can also get bent or rusted and the wheel leans and will wobble if its unsound. Mandatory replacment time.
