Tanker truck full of diesel carjacked (or is that truckjacked?)

Diesel's gotten so high down here that they're stealing tanker trucks now.

Sooo, which one of you was it?

Uuhhhggg

"Journalists" have done it again. It's actually hijacking regardless of plane or truck.

And now CNN is using "efforting" in place of "trying."

" .... this just in, details sketchy but we are efforting to find out...."

... I stand by the car jacking part... hijacking implies using the vehicle for transport in some way using the original driver to accomplish it... this guy just stole the vehicle at gunpoint.

Sounds like organized crime as where would an individual put that much diesel fuel. It would take multiple stations to empty that tanker truck.

BTW, I was just looking to "fill up" this week.

Here locally there is a guy with a tanker truck and high volume pump that is breaking into the storage facilities and stealing 1500-2000 gallons of fuel at a time.

A lot of trucking companys use GPS on their trucks so they know where they are at all times. plus it shows the co. speed, idle time and shifting etc...
don`t know if these tankers have GPS, and either would the jacker. but that is a ballsey move to do. where do I hide this thing????

even if I did this sort of thing at 3AM, I could deliver the fuel at an undisclosed station and who would know? just another fuel delivery. then drop the truck off some where and be gone.

that`s like what, 9000 gallons? at 25mpg that would be 225000 miles of driving?

Charlie ☺

I might have to rebuild the engine or the transmission after I used all that fuel.

BUT Federal Motor Carrier laws don't mention 'car' jacking. Taking a commercial vehicle by coercion is hijacking no matter who drives it. If the robbers use the rightful driver to drive, they add kidnapping to it all. I can't believe how much I still remember from driving a truck.

Correct terminology or not, everyone knows what I'm talking about, carjack, hijack, whatever...
