Location of W115 Primary fuel filter?

For the life of me, where do they put the primary fuel filter on a W115 chassis 300D? I am having low high end power, almost a cutting out, but perfectly fine low end power. I suspect this to be the problem. But I cannot for the life of me figure out where they put it. Did they bury it underneath somewhere?

Regards

On my friend's it's on the front of the motor on the driver's side. Metal bowel that unscrews with a hand pump on the top.

We found that buried in the mess of lines between the injection pump and the firewall. On his it was hard to spot because it was covered in black flith. Happened to be full of black filth too :/

Ha

Thanks for the response.

My car usually runs nicely at 75-80 but on a slight grade I cant even get it to break 60, real low power. I want to check this before I throw money at the problem.

Plus I have an inline filter I forgot to install
