Vacuum piston malfunction

The diaphragm lock bolt will not screw into the piston. It will enter the bolt hole, but it does not tighten; the pump produces no vacuum.

Does anyone know how this might have occured? (When I replaced the vacuum diaphragm last fall, I used locktite on the piston bolt, and was sure not to overtighten it.) Is there a repair kit that would allow me to replace only the piston?

The car is a 1978 240D; it's piston-type vacuum pump, with two hoses.

It is a diaphragm type; is there a repair kit that would allow me to replace just the piston in a diaphragm-type, two-hose pump?

the only repair kit I know of is for the diaphram and check valves. I have a vacuum pumpe off a 78 300cd 5 cylinder if you want to buy it off of me. Dont know if it fits though. Thats all I can tell you, go buy another one
