Help, what wires are for what on the glow relay??

1983 300SD (om617) motor

Did search, not in my manual, have manual just no diagrams (only have the motor so whole car manual purchase not an option)

Need to wire my glow plug relay (motor swap)

5 wires to glow plugs on relay no problem

other 4 wires on smaller connector (Based on my search still two unidentified wires)

brown wire and goes to ground
Green (pin5) wire of the new controller harness (Dash light???)
Red/blue wire and is circuit 15 goes to????
violet wire and is circuit 50 goes to???

Cheers
David

voilet wire goes to ignition switch- from what I understand is it senses when you have "started" the car, and switches the GO's off. it can be left unhooked, result is a longer glow cycle/ afterglow cycle.

search the violet wire mod for more info.

brown is ground.

BTW- the haynes manual is only $20, and does cover many engine repair procedures, as well as wiring diagrams.

and the real question here is what are you doing with the engine??;):)

Here is the line-up from the 1982 model 300SD:

Terminal:
1 (Red/Black) Start/run input from ignition switch
2 (Violet) Cranking input from ignition switch via neutral safety switch
3 (Blue/White) Power for glow lamp
4 (Brown) Ground

Terminal 1 = 15 on the relay; 2 = 50; 4 = 31

Here is the project (should be running this weekend) http://bb.bc4x4.com/showthread.php?t=123204

I know I can get a Haynes manual cheep, but I have a manual that covers a complete rebuild of motor and trouble shoot...just no wiring diagram and I only have the glow plug wires from the Mercedes....

Thanks again
