Advice on removing chrome fender things
I'm considering the removal of the chrome trim pieces/covers that sit over the fender wheel wells.
They look to be attached by rivets, so it's not a matter of unscrewing them and being done. And although I don't suspect any rust or damage to the fender underneath, I'd like the option of reattaching the covers if necessary. any advice?

Drill out the rivets, you can always pop some new ones in later if needed.

That's what I thought...I don't have rivet tools, etc., so was hoping for a different solution. Maybe I'll take 'em off this weekend and see how it looks.

pop rivet guns are pretty cheap to buy.
