Master cylinder chambers/ flush question- which is which?

ok, I was trying to avoid asking a stupid question, and the archives schooled me on many things; but couldn't find this answer.

I assume the front chamber is for the front brakes, and vice-versa; is that right?

I am asking because last night I tried to suck out al the fluid with a turkey baster, and could get all the big rear chamber out, but not the front. Then I thought, well maybe I should bleed the fronts first, so the MC is completely fresh with new fluid. But as i bled the fronts, both chambers went down.

Must have a big baster. You can use your miti vac if you have the fluid canister attachment.

No, got a big baster, the point is you cannot reach into the front reservoir on my MC. It seems the only way to drain the fluid is through flushing.

If you are so inclined, you can pull the reservoir off the master cylinder and clean it with some alcohol. Or soap and water if you make sure to dry it completely.

The divided feature applies to the bottom half of the reservoir (approximately.) Once the reservoir is about half empty, only one segment of the reservoir will empty completely.
