trim "red berries"
what are they listed under in fastlane? I went to get out of my car and managed to hook my pants on the left side passenger door bump strip and it ripped the first two red berries out and would not go back in :(.. So I pulled it all the way off and now I need to put it back on .
so what are they officially called so I can order them. nvm... molding clip nvm again.. called my mechanic and he is going to mail me some tomorrow.. no charge... schweeet |
Does fastlane stock the new beige ones with the updated design?
|
I dunno.. I'm getting the new ones free of charge

Red berry thingies
My side trim is also popping out, but not sure what these pieces are called in Fastlane parts?
|
I bought a complete set of new "red strawberry" pieces from an ebay listing as I was replacing all of that trim following a repaint. The new trim also came with the mounting pieces so I have an extra set - about 60.
What's the improvement in the updated beige ones? Before the repaint, I had one piece come off and the repair shop used a beige clip - it never held correctly and I assumed it was the wrong part. |
I can't tell any difference in the old red ones and the new white ones, although I haven't given it much thought. I got 20 them from the dealer a long time ago.
I need to get some of the little gromets that hold the model # badge to the trunk, my "280CE" is only held on by one gromet. There .20 at the dealer but they have to order them, I'll wait until I need something else, I'd feel stupid paying a bill that was less than 1.00. |
I have recently used both, and both worked just fine for me. To me, the white ones were a little more substantial...heavier plastic - especially the little "flaps" or whatever your call the things at the tip

When I repainted, I welded the holes for my trunk emblems with the exception of the star. They were always a problem to clean and wax around. The star is easy to R&R.
I know!!! Some of you will think that was a mistake but I like the clean look and letting people guess what I'm driving (not that a 123 is hard to identify). |
