Reminder: Have ATF On Hand During Radiator Swap

I just finished changing out the radiator in my 240D Automatic. It went somewhat okay, really. I did the following:

1) Unhook fan shroud and push back a little bit. Remove engine fan. Set aside bolts so as not to lose them or their washers.
2) Remove upper radiator hose. Set aside hose clamp.
3) Remove fan shroud.
4) Remove lower radiator hose. Set aside hose clamps.
5) Unscrew and move out of the way, transmission cooler lines.
6) Unbolt lower oil cooler bracket from radiator.
7) Lift radiator up and remove hook from oil cooler. Put radiator on ground.
8) Do everything in reverse with new radiator.

My coolant was, as far as I know, amber coolant -- it wasn't neon green. Of course, there was a LOT of rust and sediment in it, even as far as coating the entire insides of the two lines. I'm thinking I'll need a citric acid flush, but don't want to ruin a gasket or something. I refilled the radiator with tap water for now, will go to the store and get a few gal. of Zyrex coolant and flush again with that. I figure running some tapwater through a short heat up/cool down cycle will be a good way to potentially get rid of the last little bit of crap that's in there, as well as any traces of old coolant, before adding brand new stuff.

But, I forgot that I'd be losing ATF when I unscrew the cooler lines. About a quart or so leaked out, and now my tranny won't engage :p so I'm waiting right now for a friend to take me to Autozone for some Dex3.

Let this be a reminder to everyone!
