Redemption for my 300d, and a bit of justice

My father has been less than extatic about my 300d purchase. My oil cooler line popping off and spraying its goodness into every nook and cranny, which dripped for a few weeks only added fuel to his fire. Ol' Turbo is named Exxon Valdez (very original) by him, and he loves to put down both of my cars.

When I was still living at home, I would wash my 500sl in the driveway on weekends. He would make it a point almost every time to come outside and jest, "you can't polish a turd."

Well, today brought a bit of justice and vindication for my 300d.

He calls me this afternoon, obviously in a bad "Monday" mood, exclaiming, "I thought I told you not to park that piece of s*** in my driveway."

I asked him why he came to that conclusion and he irritably explained that many drops of oil were clustered in front of his garage door, where I used to park.

I explained to him that not only have I not parked there in months, but my 300d does not leak a drop of oil.

Upon further inspection, I realized that the oil was leaking from none other than his 2007 Yukon Denali.

Oh, what a great day. I really gave it to him.

Do not for any reason let him live it down. Give it to him twice as bad as he has to you.

Very nice Tyler

We spent the day Sunday with my parents, and the wagon left a little memory on his driveway

My dad likes my car, and whenever I visit, we go look at my car. I always point out that it never leaves a drop of anything on his driveway. He's pretty impressed, considering...

Remind him...

Calling a GMC a turd would insult metabolic waste.

Man, there's some family issues deeply hidden here, but that aside, how can he call those cars pos's?! I'd love to have an SL...and both of those look a lot better than my beater 80 240 commuter does. You want to really get him, lets park my beige 240 with the maroon fender and rust holes all over it with rattle can primer spots in his drive...it marks it's territory too...subtly...but it does.... Instant heart attack

Let's see that GM in 20 + years

In 20 + years what little metal that modern GM was made of will have been recycled 2 or 3 times.LOL (probably end up as a w123 license plate bracket)

He has very good taste in German cars as well, but likes GM products for daily drivers. We have a very good relationship and like to kid eachother, though he can be cranky at times.

He recently bought a 2004 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet, and was eager to show it off to me, since I can truly appreciate it. My first response upon viewing it: "I've had a Turbocharged German engine for more than 6 months now, and I only paid 2 grand for mine. What's the big deal?"

Awesome. My dad and I are on the same page when it comes to cars.

We are both fans of German cars.
