Where does all that oil near the EGR come from?

I have a ton of oil leaking all over the pass side of the engine compartment, underneath the air filter, and it is soaking my new motor mount, as well as the front end components. My air filter has a little oil in it, but not enough to blame ... The motor and egr area is just saturated...
Any ideas?

I have the same problem exactly as you describe. First accused a bad fit on the VC gasket, reset the VC and checked, no leaks.
I feel this has something to do with the so called oil separator in the air filter housing. I cleaned up the mess then routed the oil line from air cleaner into a plastic 2 ltr pop bottle to fastened to the left of the intake "U" pipe. Two days of driving collected an egg cup of oil and no mess below the air filter housing. I will try to refine this system.

To "refine the system":
1) remove the air filter housing
2) remove the top of the oil separator
3) clean with brake cleaner
4) reinstall the oil separator top and seal around the top edge with a bead of RTV
5) after the RTV has cured, reinstall the air filter housing
6) enjoy the results
