This is a nice E300D!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___1999-E300D-W210-TURBO-DIESEL-79K-MILES-WARRANTY-FLORIDA_W0QQitemZ230253805751QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item230253805751&

Kind of thinking about getting one, so I'm going to watch this one closely.

A CDI can be had for about $25k, if you could get this one for $10k less it would be a good buy.

IMHO I like the W211 more than the W210, plus a CDI would be a 2005 so 6 years newer.

I wouldn't buy that one on principle simply based on the fact that they doubled up on almost all their pictures.......
Oh yea, and then there is the large pile of $$$ required thing.

He doesn't know much about the car.

Quote:
the engine is single-overhead-cam design
It is a dual-cam engine.

Quote:
these top-line sedans were built with evident "cost-no-object" attitude
That's true of the S class, but certainly not the W210.

And he's copied all of the glowing text from our other friend in Florida.

And this one is even better:

Quote:
The transmission fluid was serviced according to the scheduled maintenance program
That would be never.

Wow... To many photos.... It is a dealer car, find the dealer and go over the car yourself... Probably a small dealer...
Months ago a very similar car was bid out of sight on ebay... Gut feeling is that there is something wrong that wont show up in photos...

YMMV

Another $1 or 2K and it will be overpriced even with the lower mileage.

Matt - On 2/18/05 the service interval for 722.6/9 trans was changed to read R & R fluid and filter, one time only, at 39K miles.

That's a really nice car. The paint is great. Mine has tons of rock chips in the front like it was shot with a shotgun. I bet it goes for 17-18k but maybe less because of the Diesel price thing...

Yeah the add is annoying, way to many pictures.

IMHO $18k is to much, an CDI would be just a bit more than. I'm hoping the price of diesel hurts these and brings their value down a bit.

I wonder what the reserve price is? Should be pretty close to the current bid. Nice car, but I don't think it'll go for more than $15,000, if that.

He's a dealer and not a good one when it comes to selling. I hate ads like that - a bunch of useless crap about the history of Mercedes and how great "these cars" are. You can buy it, but I wouldn't cough up any money until I saw it in person. Probably an auction car.

Not a nail...the seller is just trying to show how "sticky" the tires are......its a racing diesel.

Check out the decrepit radio power button.

Still, I'm not sure I'd want a car THAT nice for a DD. A couple weeks after I brought mine home, my wife got fetched up in a rocky snowbank and lost a chunk of the rear bumper. A bit easier to take on a car that already has a few nicks & dings.
