Arrow 1964 190D fintail Diesel available in Phoenix Arizona!

The white 1964 fintail is a 190 Diesel with a good interior, upholstery and carpeting is fairly neat and clean. It hasn't been wrecked and it looks like it has been sitting for about 15 years or longer, but it has all the original parts, trim, lenses, lights and even the original wheels with the hubcaps intact!

It is at Ecology Auto Salvage at 320 S 27th Ave Phoenix AZ #602-233-2277

It has some rust issues, but I've seen much worse than this get repaired and the body is very straight for this vehicles age!

A rodent made a nest in the battery tray, but he's gone and the egine compartment looks complete with no hose or wiring damage! I took the grill, but will gladly return it to the next owner who will get it and restore it.

Frankly, it looked like it belonged to someone old who just stopped riving it and left it somewhere until they passed away. It's a column stick shift tranny and the dash is really the worst part of the car in looks and appearance. I thought about bringing it home myself, but I don't have the room for it. Somebody rescue this car!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rv2-DYgzcY I would be willing to help get it home locally by towing it on a car trailer with my Dodge Ram for someone with their own trailer or willing to rent one, About $65 with tax to get a car hauler from Uhaul!

It even has 4 new tires on it!

I may be purchasing a 300SD in that area if everything follows through... Whats the price? If noone else wants it and its cheap enough, I'll take it... Do you think a SD is capable of towing it back to Atlanta? It'll have to sit in my garage for the next 4-6 years or so, but thats way better than the crusher!

Ecology wants $1000.00 for it. They sell by weight since this is a metal recycling yard. Altogether it's a good deal I think since this is an Arizona car and the frame tubes and undercarriage look good! The fuel tank has been removed, but it is in the trunk because someone took the fuel tank sender, but as near as I can tell, that's the only thing not on the car besides the grill which I will pass along to the new owner! At the bottom of the door sills and fender quarters is where you'll find the rust, but like I said, it does not appear to have rust in structural places and for the most part, it looks really good.

I think your SD could pull it back as long as the tires were good and you had a good hitch to pull it with, but the going would be slow. Putting it on a trailer and towing it and the weight of a car hauler I think would be too much for a 300SD transmission though. A car hauler weighs a couple thousand pounds by itself!

Much as I know the car should be saved I'm just not in a position to do so myself. I've been "discussing" the situation with my girlfriend who wants to know if she can get on the forum and ask how she can get her boyfriend to stop thinking this kind of madness. I mentioned it would be the wrong forum for that and she said she didn't mean a Mercedes fanatics forum but one for the disgruntled wives and girlfriends of Mercedes nuts

Actually I'm still toying with the idea of heading down there to look at it myself but realistically I just don't think it's something I can take on. Sure hope somebody would be able to though.

- Peter.
