Since I couldn't find a W124 uncracked dash at Pick and Pull today, I wandered around looking for "targets of opportunity." In a 1985 300D-T (California version) just like mine, I pulled the "Klima" (a/c compressor) relay (001 545 74 05) although I really didn't need another spare. The interesting part was discovering that the Klima relay has a black plastic cover that clips onto the relay socket bracket.

The part number (inside top) is 123 545 03 46. It is listed in the EPC as a "covering" fitting 1985 and later (Ha!) models. The EPC parts drawing does not show this cover with the Klima relay nor is it drawn correctly to scale. You would never know it was intended as a cover for the Klima relay. I learn something every day!
