no Nasty Trap Oxidizer installed, its had the Trapectomy
Thats a nice looking example, the price is allright provided there have been some parts replaced on the suspension and the transmission hopefully was rebuilt and the AC blows cold.
I'd offer less but if its really had a lot of stuff done and there are records to show that, well I'd probably offer close to the asking. You can blow $3500 in parts and labor getting one of these back to partially restored condition.
If there are no service records, the AC doesn't blow cold and come out of the proper air vents, offer no more than $2000 if you want or need AC because leaking vac pods and or a leaking AC evaporator will set you back at least 1500 to $2K

Trap cat recall has been performed.
Windshield washer reservoir is missing.
Possibly repainted (at least the same color), ask about body damage, if any.
Panel behind battery (covers relays) is missing.
Breather hose has been leaking badly onto the valve cover.
Gotta wonder what else is missing.
Price would be great here in California if in good condition.

Still there when I looked

I don't think it will have leather or a passenger side airbag. MB tex is frequently taken for leather.

I think the ad is gone still, as I can't see it. It is probably still in your browser cache.

AH.... That one.

Look here and find it if your having trouble with auto trader add...

http://georgiafinecar.com

I actually almost went and looked at this car a few months back. I found a 123 (which I really preferred just before doing so). I ended up paying about as much for my 123 but I seriously considered driving down to Atlanta to see this car. However IIRC he was asking $3650 for it then.

Only thing I can tell you is that I had an email exchange with the seller. A couple of them as a matter of fact. And it almost seemed I was talking to two different people. And the email exchange just sort of tapered off without any final rectification of a few questions. One reply indicated it was actually more like 230K miles on it. And another indicated the AC did not work and one indicated that the Sunroof was inoperable. It seemed to me that I was talking to two different people telling me slightly different things and neither of them seemed to be completely certain about certain facts. I was interested enough to think about spending the money to drive down there at one point and just rectifying them myself. And in fact making a phone call to get to the bottom of it before I did so. However I had already set up an appointment to look at a 123 CD that I was more interested in... and on the way back (if that failed to pan out) I had another 123 of interest as well to check out. And, eventually I passed on the CD (Loud Rod knock) and as I passed back through looked at the 83 123 Sedan and it was very much nearer to what I wanted and passed my inspection and I bought it. So I never ended up looking at this Red 87. However I was one day away from doing so.

I think it might be a decent deal. Who knows until those few items are clarified.

Added on edit:

I found one of my email exchanges with the seller. And at the time he had it listed for $3900 it appears.

here is the response on the one I found. Cannot find the one said anything about AC so I am either wrong on that or its on my work computer. So be sure to ask and check to be sure. I could be wrong as I looked at a lot of cars.

it is available, everything works but sun roof, miles is 230K and runs strong, the paint is original, very clean car. Thanks

The first time I tried I got "This car is no longer listed for sale."

Later in the evening I saw the ad. Man, that's a red car.

This afternoon I get "This car is no longer listed for sale." again.

I think the short of it is it's at a used car lot and they know nothing about it.

They indeed are... and, indeed they don't. But I think they seem to be more of a BMW place as well. This one really would need a hands on in person inspection. I don't think they know what they got nor seem to care too much to find out.
