Spiders/inner joint? I am guessing they lost a bearing. Car look great! Cant wait for some local auto cross a 3,47/3,69 rear end and some turbo work.

The guys said we were def the slowest car on the track but was turning in pretty good times. Good enough for 19th again.

Could have simply lost the c-clip that holds the axel in if its that type, if its the bolt-on type you could have just lost the cup. Or you could have exploded a bearing or two lol.

1981 240d (engine donor 1983 240d) recently rebuilt engine hurray! - No more.. fought a tree and the tree won.

pearl black 1983 240d 4speed (Converted!@$$%) atleast the tranny was rebuilt.

If you were 19th, and the slowest car on the track, I'm guessing you were not the only ones to experience some type of failure. Congrats, I love watching the vids.

We were one of the fastest in the corners By no means did we have the slowest laptimes, just the lowest straights. I do not think it was getting full fuel. I had one test run down the street at night with no headlights. We will make a better showing. I plan on doing some autocross first.

Already have all new brakes, fronts are 2nd gen with the ATE "slotted" and vented rotors. EBC Red brake pads. I'd be happy to have a higher end rear.

We are definetely running it next year.
The guys seem to think it has a bad piston or 2 now, I am doubtful as it sounded ok when they brought it home.
I guess not using an air filter was a bad idea

Did you have a 15MM rear sway bar in that car? I'm excited that it cornered so well. Let me know if you need another driver next year

Nope all stock. The only thing we did was chop the springs and put beefier tires on. Next year we will take another 1/2 coil off and put a TD spring in the front and use 8" wide wheels with 245 vs the 225 tires we had on. We outbraked everyone including the Bimmers. A testament to the 2nd gen W126 caliper upgrade. We out maneuvered most everyone in the corners. There was def a lack of boost or fuel in my one short test drive. Never got a chance to debug that issue.

They were bilstein. Not sure if HD or Comfort. Fairly new, as were most of the suspension components.

Odd on a car with so much rust.
