Strange Rattle - Only at certain RPMs

My '83 300SD has a very strage, metallic type rattle that happens at various RPMs under light load.

Any ideas what I should look for as far as a cause?

Check engine and exhaust heat sheilds and hangers.

Check the 3 rubber mounts under the air breather cover. Mine were bad and the air breather rattled at idle. Push on it and rev motor to see if rattles stop.
