Will a door with electric windows work with manual windows?

Hello all,

My 1982 240d was in an accident, messed up the passenger side doors (both).

My car has manual windows, and is 123 body style (I think all 240s are)

I found someone on craigslist parting out a 1983 300d 123 body style, but has electric windows.

My windows still work and all (from the "broken" doors) - its the outside door sheet metal that was damaged.

Will I have any problem buying these doors, and changing out the inside door panels and manual "guts" to work with the rest of my manual windows?

Appreciate the help!

do the regulators in the ebay doors work? do the electric windows work?
I don't see why they would not swap over, but MAN it' a lot of work. you may even have to swap over the glass...
on the plus side, you will have motors and regulators to sell on ebay! you will probably get back your shipping. and even some of your door costs.

I am not sure if the electric windows work. The car is a parts car and non functional. I will be going to the site and pulling the door off myself.

I would love to just buy a manual door, and be done with it. Problem is, all manual doors seem to be damaged or non existent. I am gonig to get these doors for a steal since I am pulling from a car thats going to the crusher next week anyway.

Will it be a lot of work? Probably.

Do I have many other options? Not so far

So if it is possible to swap the guts out, then I am going to buy it even if I have to do a lot to get everything swapped over.

Hell, I dont even open that window anyway, so maybe I can just put on the "new" door and be done.

Anyone know how much it would cost to paint my new doors to match the rest of the car? lol.

On my '83 240D, with electirc windows, I swapped out three of the doors with those from an 82 240D with manual windows. I swapped out the inner workings and door panels without a problem. Actually pretty easy.

Do you need a 240 door? What color?

There is an immaculate 240 in the boneyard.

R and R on a window regulator is a piece of cake. Only issue would be the hole left in the inner door for the wiring, and if you had vacuum door locks this may not even be an issue.

Thanks for the quick replies, and for making me fell better

I am looking for the reddish-maroon color.

My car does have vacuum door locks as well, so sounds like a perfect fit.

I'm parting out a 1982 300d as well if your interested. The doors are white, so it should be an easy repaint to match yours since white is the easiest to cover. I could pull all the innards out and send you the door shell if you like. How much are doors in your area? I'm in Phoenix Arizona.

Nah, its piece of cake straight across bolt-in operation. Door sheetmetal's precut predrilled mounting holes that accept either manual or electr windows - no problemo ye keep the same glass, tracks and runners.
