A question/favor to ask of the 300CD owners

I recently did a rather "unconventional" repair to the sunroof on my 84 300CD. I'm trying to figure out how much it affected my sunroof opening.

Can those of you with 300CDs and working sunroofs do me a favor? Open your sunroof and measure how far it opens from the front edge of the panel to the edge of the roof opening?

Thanks in advance to any and all who are willing to take a couple of minutes and help me out.

1983 300CD

Full open. From the word "Webasto" on the aluminum trim to the front painted edge of the sunroof is 13 1/4 inches.

So that is from the edge of the headliner to the edge of the panel then?

Did you take a measurement from the edge of the panel to the edge of the opening (in front of the wind deflector flap)?

My 300CD sun roof has always (I bought it new), opens to the point that about 2.5 inches does not go beyond the edge of the roof opening. When it's open, the hole is 14 inches, from paint to paint.

My first measurement was from inside the car.

This next measurement is from outside the car. From the black seal on the front of the opening to the front edge of the sunroof panel is 14 inches.

OK, thanks guys. Mine measures 12-1/2" paint to paint.
So I looks like I lost about 1-1/2" of opening.
I guess that's a small enough sacrifice to make for not having to remove the rear window and drop the headliner...
